Nearby, the delicate form of One Pillar Pagoda rises from a single stone column, inspired by the lotus flower. Continue to the Temple of Literature, where a series of tranquil courtyards and ancient stone stelae preserve the spirit of Vietnam’s first university.
In the afternoon, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, where exhibits on Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups bring the country’s cultural diversity vividly to life.

Leaving the city behind, the scenery gradually unfolds as you make your way toward Ha Long Bay. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed aboard with a refreshing drink, followed by a brief introduction before retreating to the comfort of your private cabin.
As the vessel begins its gentle passage through the limestone seascape, lunch is served on board. Towering karsts rise from the water in shifting formations, their reflections changing with the light, best appreciated from the open deck or the privacy of your cabin balcony.
The afternoon is left open to explore the bay more closely. You may choose to kayak through quiet lagoons, drift past hidden corners by small boat, or simply remain on board, taking in the stillness of the surroundings.
Toward evening, the pace softens even further. As the sun lowers behind the karsts, the deck becomes a natural gathering point for a sunset aperitif, followed by a refined dinner served in an intimate setting. The night settles quietly over the bay, with only the gentle movement of the water and the silhouettes of distant islands.

At the heart of the complex, the more secluded Forbidden Citadel was reserved for the emperor’s private life, its remaining structures offering a quieter, more intimate glimpse into the past.
