If you have a week to spend on your Vietnam vacation and still want to travel from the North to the South, this 7-day journey is an excellent choice. Starting from the capital city of Hanoi, we’ll take you to explore the charming Old Quarter, with its 36 lively streets full of local rhythm. Then, head to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Halong Bay, where you’ll be amazed by the bay’s magnificent beauty and grandeur. Next, fly to the other half of the country and arrive in Vietnam’s largest city. In contrast to the north, its vibrant, dynamic energy will be your first impression. And of course, you cannot miss the historic Cu Chi Tunnels – an underground network that speaks to the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people during wartime.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, our friendly local team will be there to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Hanoi. After settling in, feel free to head out and soak up the sights, sounds and flavors of this lively capital at your own pace.

 

Overnight in Hanoi.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of Hanoi, where timeless heritage meets the rhythm of modern life.

Begin with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, including Ba Dinh Square and the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, shaped like a lotus rising from water. Continue to the peaceful Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, honoring scholars and Confucian tradition.

In the afternoon, explore the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, where the stories of Vietnam’s diverse ethnic groups come to life. Then enjoy a relaxing stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and visit the charming Ngoc Son Temple via its famous red bridge.

End the day with a delightful water puppet show, a uniquely Vietnamese art form that brings local folklore to life on water. The evening time is free for you to explore Hanoi however you like.

Leave the bustling of Hanoi behind, today you’ll head to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO-listed wonder known for its crystal-clear waters and towering limestone islands. On boarding, a fresh welcome drink will be served as you listen to a cruise briefing. Then unwind and settle into your cabin before savoring your lunch at the restaurant. After a short rest, you’ll visit an impressive cave and have time for swimming at a peaceful beach in the afternoon. Afterward, unwind on deck or join a relaxed cooking class where you’ll learn to prepare a simple Vietnamese specialty. Happy hour is a perfect chance to sip a cocktail and watch the sun set. The cruise will treat you to dinner in the restaurant, after which you can spend some time on the Sky bar or a bit of squid fishing.

Overnight on cruise in Ha Long

Wake up to the peaceful beauty of the bay and join a morning Tai Chi session on deck. After brunch on board, disembark and return to Hanoi.
From there, take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City, where you'll be met and transferred to your hotel in the city centre.

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you’ll set off for the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, located just outside the city. This underground world once served as a base of operations during the resistance war against the United States. Crawling through the narrow passageways and hidden chambers offers a rare look into how Vietnamese fighters and civilians lived, fought, and survived during this pivotal period in the nation's history.

In the afternoon, return to the city for a guided tour of its most iconic landmarks. You’ll begin at the Independence Palace—also known as the Reunification Palace—which played a central role in the events of April 1975.

Next is the tranquil Jade Emperor Pagoda, a peaceful space filled with rich carvings and spiritual ambience. End the day by wandering through Binh Tay Market in Cholon, where you’ll experience the energy of the city’s bustling Chinatown district.

 

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

Departing from Ho Chi Minh City in the morning, you'll head to Tiền Giang Province to begin your exploration of the Mekong Delta. The first stop is Vĩnh Tràng Pagoda, a well-known Buddhist site built in the early 19th century, noted for its blend of Eastern and Western architectural styles.

From the pier, board a boat for a short cruise on the Mekong River, passing by floating houses where fish are raised underneath. You’ll then arrive at Unicorn Island, where a short cart ride brings you to a shaded garden. Here, you can listen to traditional Southern folk music and taste a variety of fresh tropical fruits.

Continue with a peaceful hand-rowed sampan trip along narrow canals lined with water coconut trees, giving you a closer view of local life along the waterways.

In the afternoon, visit a small bee farm, where you can enjoy a cup of honey tea and learn a bit about local beekeeping practices. Before lunch, stop by a family-run coconut candy workshop, where the process of making this local treat is demonstrated, and samples are offered.
