Itinerary

Welcome to Hanoi, a city where old traditions and modern energy exist side by side. Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in the city center.

Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to take a gentle walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, or simply relax and settle into the pace of the capital.

Overnight in Hanoi

Meal: none

Your morning begins with a closer look at Hanoi’s cultural and intellectual heritage. Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, where peaceful courtyards and ancient stone stelae reflect the country’s long-standing respect for education.

Continue to the Ethnology Museum, offering an insightful introduction to Vietnam’s diverse ethnic groups through well-curated exhibits and traditional house replicas.

Before lunch, pause at Ngoc Son Temple, set on a small island in Hoan Kiem Lake, a place tied to local legends and spiritual life.

In the afternoon, leave the city behind and head to Bat Trang, a riverside village known for its centuries-old ceramic craft. Wander through narrow lanes lined with workshops, observe artisans at work, and try shaping your own piece of pottery, a simple but memorable way to connect with local tradition.

Overnight in Ha Noi

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Travel south to Ninh Binh, where dramatic limestone formations rise from a patchwork of rice fields. By early afternoon, arrive in a quiet rural area and step into the daily life of local farmers.

Spend the afternoon engaging in hands-on activities: feeding and bathing water buffalo, trying your balance during a short ride, and joining villagers in catching fish using traditional methods. Continue into the rice paddies, where you’ll learn how young rice is planted, an experience that offers a deeper appreciation of this essential crop.

Later, cool off with a natural spring bath and explore a nearby cave hidden within the landscape. As the day winds down, take part in a casual cooking session, preparing a simple meal together before enjoying it in a relaxed countryside setting.

Return to your hotel in Ninh Binh in the evening.

Overnight in Ninh Binh

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Start the day with a visit to Mua Cave, where a climb up stone steps leads to one of the most rewarding viewpoints in the region. From the top, the scenery opens wide, rice fields, winding rivers, and limestone peaks stretching into the distance.

After lunch, continue your journey deeper into the mountains toward Pu Luong Nature Reserve. The drive itself becomes part of the experience, as the landscape gradually shifts into forested hills and terraced valleys.

Arrive in Pu Luong by late afternoon and check in to your lodge, surrounded by nature.

Overnight in Pu Luong

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today is dedicated to exploring the quiet beauty of Pu Luong and the daily life of the Thai ethnic community.

Begin with a short transfer to Don Village, where traditional stilt houses sit against a backdrop of rice terraces. From here, follow village paths on foot, passing through Uoi Village and continuing to Lan Ngoai, known for its intricate brocade weaving. Along the way, observe how local life unfolds, from farming to handicrafts passed down through generations.

In the afternoon, head to Hieu Waterfall. A short walk leads you to a series of cascading levels, where clear, cool water flows through the forest. Take your time here, whether for a refreshing dip or simply to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Overnight in Pu Luong

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

This morning offers a deeper connection to traditional life in Pu Luong. Visit Pu Luong Ancient Stilt House and take part in everyday activities such as pounding rice, weaving fabric, and learning how rice wine is made, simple tasks that reflect generations of knowledge.

Continue on foot to Cham Stream and venture into a vast cave system, where impressive rock formations reveal the hidden side of the region’s landscape.

Later, return to the stream for a refreshing swim before trying your hand at preparing a rustic meal using traditional cooking methods. Enjoy what you’ve created, surrounded by nature.

In the afternoon, experience bamboo rafting along a gentle stretch of water, drifting past lush scenery. Then visit the iconic water wheels - the ingenious structures used by locals to guide water from streams to rice fields.

Return to your lodge in the late afternoon, with time to relax at your own pace.
