Your tour begins at the Ho Chi Minh Complex and Ba Dinh Square, where history comes alive. It was here, on September 2, 1945, that President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed Vietnam’s independence, marking the birth of a new nation. You’ll admire the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a place of national remembrance, and stroll past the elegant Presidential Palace, a fine example of French colonial architecture. Just a short walk away is Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, which reflects his humble way of living. Continue to the nearby One Pillar Pagoda, gracefully rising from a lotus pond, and discover why this unique temple has become a lasting symbol of Vietnamese spirituality. The morning ends at the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, where shaded courtyards, ancient steles, and traditional architecture honor the country’s long-standing reverence for knowledge and Confucian values. You will have time for your own lunch before heading out in the afternoon to visit Bat Trang Pottery Village located just outside of Hanoi. Famous for its long tradition of ceramics and fine craftsmanship, here you can watch local artisans at work, and try your hand at molding, carving patterns, or painting your own ceramic piece — a simple yet rewarding experience that connects you directly with the village’s craft.
