Itinerary

Welcome to Da Nang! Upon landing, meet your guide and begin your first encounters with this dynamic coastal city. Your exploration starts at the Marble Mountains, a cluster of five limestone hills named after the five elements, adorned with hidden caves and pagodas. Step into Am Phu Cave, a labyrinth that blends natural formations with spiritual imagery, reflecting the Buddhist philosophy of karma. Continue to the Son Tra Peninsula, home to Linh Ung Pagoda and its striking Lady Buddha statue gazing out across the East Sea. From its courtyard, you’ll enjoy sweeping coastal views and the peaceful atmosphere of the pagoda grounds.

After lunch, discover the Cham Museum, which preserves the world’s richest collection of Cham sculptures. Later, wander through the bustling Han Market before ending your day at the Dragon Bridge, a modern landmark that dazzles when illuminated at night.

Overnight in Da Nang.

Meals: none

After breakfast, head into the countryside near Hoi An. At Cam Thanh Coconut Village, climb into a round bamboo basket boat and float beneath swaying palms along quiet waterways. Continue to Tra Que Vegetable Village, where you’ll meet local gardeners and try out traditional farming techniques passed down through generations. Enjoy a local lunch (at your own expense) before venturing into Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site where Chinese assembly halls, Japanese bridges, and Vietnamese merchant homes stand side by side. As night falls, take a short boat ride on the Hoai River. Light a small lantern and let it drift across the water for luck, then wander the lantern-lined streets and explore the colorful night market.

Overnight in Hoi An.

Meals: breakfast

Travel to My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO site of temples and red-brick towers built by the Cham people between the 4th and 13th centuries. Despite the scars of time and war, the site remains a spiritual treasure that reflects the kingdom’s Hindu influences. Return to Hoi An for lunch before continuing north to Hue. The drive takes about 2.5 hours with a scenic stop at the spectacular Hai Van Pass, where forested slopes descend dramatically toward the shoreline below.

Arrive in Hue late afternoon. The rest of the day is free for you to get your first impressions of the city.

Overnight in Hue

Meals: breakfast

Begin your day at Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest in Hue, standing gracefully on Ha Khe Hill by the Perfume River. Continue to the Imperial Citadel, where grand gates, throne halls, and gardens once echoed with the ceremonies of the Nguyen emperors. Afterwards, stroll through Dong Ba Market, the city’s busiest, alive with local flavors and crafts.

After lunch, visit the resting places of Hue’s rulers. Admire the intricate mosaics and European flair of Khai Dinh’s Tomb, then step into the harmonious gardens of Minh Mang’s Tomb, set among lakes and pavilions. End the day with a stop at traditional craft villages, where artisans hand-roll incense sticks and weave iconic conical hats, continuing traditions that have endured for generations.

The evening is at your leisure

Overnight in Hue.

Meals: breakfast

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before transferring to the airport for your onward flight, concluding your 5 day exploring the cultural heritage of central Vietnam.
