Escape the city and spend an Amazing Thuy Bieu Cycling and Cooking Class – 1/2 Day Cultural Experience in Hue, a charming riverside village just outside Hue. Ride through lush marian plum gardens, visit traditional houses, learn local crafts, and join a hands-on cooking class in a serene garden setting. This experience combines culture, relaxation, and cuisine — the perfect way to see Hue beyond its royal citadel.
At 8:30 am, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on a scenic dragon boat ride along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda — Hue’s most iconic religious site dating back to the 17th century. Around 10:00 am, continue to Huong Quan village and enjoy cycling through the tranquil gardens shaded by marian plum trees. By 10:30 am, stop at a traditional Hue-style “ruong” house, an architectural gem that has stood for centuries. Here, you’ll sip tea with the host and listen to fascinating stories about the home’s history and its unique garden design.
At 11:00 am, discover the daily life of the villagers as you observe traditional crafts such as incense and joss paper making. You’ll also visit a local family that creates folk paintings — simple yet heartfelt works reflecting the villagers’ wish for happiness and prosperity. Around noon, enjoy a delicious lunch in a peaceful garden house, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
After lunch, at 12:30 pm, join a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn how to make marian plum sweet jam or Hue-style traditional cakes. Then, at 1:00 pm, unwind with a soothing 30-minute pomelo and herbal foot bath. The experience concludes with a visit to Ho Quyen – Voi Re, the historical site that once hosted dramatic battles between elephants and tigers.
As the afternoon fades, you’ll return to your hotel with a deeper connection to Hue’s timeless culture and rural charm.
