Upon arrival in Lao’s tranquil capital, your local guide and private driver will be greeting you and escorting you to your hotel for check-in. After settling in, you may enjoy your first evening in Laos with a traditional diner accompanied by a graceful cultural dance performance.

After breakfast, set out to explore the local life at Thong Khan Kham Market, where vibrant stalls overflow with tropical produce, spices, and the many ingredients that make up the Lao kitchen. Continue your discovery at Wat Sisaket, the city’s oldest surviving temple, known for its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, followed by nearby Wat Phra Keo, now a museum housing exquisite religious art. Pass by the stately Presidential Palace before visiting That Luang Stupa, Laos’s most sacred monument, glistening in gold beneath the sun. A short drive brings you to Patuxay, the city’s own Arc de Triomphe—climb to the top for sweeping views of Vientiane.
In the afternoon, travel about 45 minutes out of town to Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan). Along the way, stop to photograph the Friendship Bridge, built in 1994 to connect Laos and Thailand across the Mekong. Stroll through the surreal landscape of over 200 sculptures depicting Buddhist and Hindu deities—strange, spiritual, and utterly fascinating. As the day fades, return to Vientiane for a relaxed evening. Enjoy a riverside coffee or wander through the colonial quarter as the sun sets over the Mekong.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then transfer to the station for your scenic train journey to Luang Prabang. After a comfortable two-hour ride through the countryside, arrive in this UNESCO-listed gem—where tradition and tranquility meet.
Begin your exploration at Wat Visoun, one of the city’s oldest temples, inspired by Khmer architecture, and continue to Wat Aham and Wat Sene, known for their serene courtyards and intricate woodwork. At Wat Xieng Thong, marvel at its golden façades, glass mosaics, and the elegant “Tree of Life” mural—a masterpiece of Lao artistry. Visit the Royal Palace Museum, once home to the last monarchs of Laos, where royal artifacts and the sacred Pha Bang Buddha are preserved. End your cultural walk at Wat Mai, admired for its graceful five-tiered roof.
As dusk approaches, climb Mount Phousi for panoramic views of Luang Prabang bathed in the soft glow of sunset. Later, browse through the lively Night Market, where hill-tribe artisans sell handmade textiles, lanterns, and souvenirs.

Rise early to witness one of Laos’s most sacred daily rituals—Tak Bat, the morning almsgiving ceremony. Watch as saffron-robed monks walk silently through the streets, collecting offerings of sticky rice from devoted locals. Afterwards, wander through the nearby morning market, alive with colors and aromas of fresh produce and daily life.
Board a traditional longboat for a peaceful cruise along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves. Nestled within limestone cliffs, these ancient grottoes—Tham Ting and Tham Phoum—are filled with thousands of Buddha images, each placed here by pilgrims over the centuries. On the return trip, stop at Ban Xang Hai, a riverside village known for its traditional rice wine production.
In the afternoon, travel southwest to the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfall, a cascade of turquoise pools hidden in lush forest. Take time to swim, relax, or hike to the upper tiers for stunning views. On the way back, pass through nearby ethnic minority villages to glimpse local crafts and rural life. Return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.
